Cathode material

Cathode material is one of the 4 key materials of Lithium-ion battery (LIB), which accounts for 30~40% manufacturing costs of LIB, and it is also a key material to determine the safety, performance, cost and life of the battery. LIB cathode materials mainly include LiCoO2 (LCO), Li M2O4 (LMO), NCM, LiFePO4 (LFP) etc.; each has self characteristics and good applications. Due to the differentiated needs of various applications, the diversified cathode materials technologies will be coexist and developed. How to optimize the process, improve performance, are the key issues of the industry. The further R&D of cathode materials are mainly in capacity increase, costs reduction, cycle and safety performance improvement.
